Gibi was founded in Washington, D.C. in 2023 with a clear mission: give food delivery workers a better way to work—and a real path to ownership. Before Gibi, couriers were stuck choosing between cheap e-bikes that constantly broke down or expensive ride-share bikes that were inefficient, unreliable, and never theirs. Throttle access was limited, availability was inconsistent, and weekly costs could climb into the hundreds with nothing to show for it. We saw a gap in the market—and an opportunity to build something better.

We created Gibi to meet that demand with high-quality, premium electric bikes designed specifically for food delivery. Our bikes are reliable, efficient, and built for daily use, giving couriers the tools they need to sustain their income and move toward ownership instead of endless renting. From day one, our focus has been simple: reduce friction, increase earning potential, and treat delivery workers like professionals, not disposable users.

Since launching, Gibi has grown rapidly across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, and we’re now expanding into cities worldwide through our courier bikes model. Our founding team brings over five years of hands-on experience working with ride-share companies, operating more than 2,500 vehicles and completing over 10,000 repairs. That operational knowledge shapes everything we do—because Gibi isn’t built from theory. It’s built from the road up.
